NEW DELHI (Reuters) – The government may collect 4 trillion rupees as direct tax for the current fiscal year ending March 2010, a government panel member said on Wednesday. "There is an unexpected increase in recent direct tax collections. It is possible that direct tax figures may touch 4 lakh crore (4 trillion rupees)," said Govinda Rao, a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council.
